Our FAQ

Answers to the Questions We Hear Most Often

  • Is concrete pumping only worth it for large commercial pours?

Not at all. Pumping is equally effective for small residential jobs — especially when the pour site is on a slope, behind a structure, or anywhere a concrete truck can't position safely. The labour and time savings apply at any scale, and the cleaner result speaks for itself.

  • What line size do I need for my project?

Rockline Pumping carries 4-inch line down to 2-inch line. Larger lines move higher volumes faster — suited for commercial floor slabs and ICF walls. Smaller lines give you more flexibility in tight or complex access situations. Contact us with your project details and we'll confirm the right setup.

  • Can you pump specialty concrete mixes?

Our operators are knowledgeable about concrete mix designs and can pump most mix types. If your project involves a specific mix, mention it when you reach out so we can confirm compatibility before booking.

  • What do I need to have ready before your crew arrives?

Site access needs to be clear for the pump unit, and you'll need to have a suitable washout location available on site. Your concrete supplier should be confirmed and scheduled before we arrive. Beyond that, our team handles the rest — we come prepared and manage the pump process from the moment we're on site.

  • How is washout and mess handled after the pour?

Concrete washout doesn't have to become your problem. Rockline Pumping offers off-site washout solutions and washout bags to keep your site clean and compliant. We handle the cleanup process as part of our service — so when we leave, your site is left the way we found it, without residue or disposal left to your crew.

  • What happens if my concrete supplier delivers a bad load or arrives late?

This is exactly the kind of situation our two-operator setup is designed for. We're on site and actively managing the pour — if a load arrives dry, late, or off-spec, our team responds in real time to keep the pour moving wherever possible. Contact us to discuss contingency planning for your specific project.

  • Do you operate year-round?

Yes. Rockline Pumping operates in all seasons. Cold weather pours require additional preparation, and we take the necessary precautions to keep your project progressing safely on schedule.

  • How far in advance should I book?

Scheduling availability varies depending on the season and project volume. Contact us as early as possible once your pour date is known — the more lead time we have, the better we can coordinate around your supplier and site schedule.

  • What is the difference between line pumping and boom pumping?

Line pumping uses a trailer-mounted pump connected to a series of hoses that are manually positioned to the pour location. Boom pumping uses a truck-mounted pump with a hydraulic arm.

Rockline Pumping specializes in concrete line pumping, which offers excellent reach and flexibility, particularly for residential and mid-scale commercial projects. Contact us to confirm whether line pumping is the right fit for your job.
